18 Mar Whitley Academy’s careers fair
A Path to our Future
Written by: Siah and Alesha – year 8 Young Reporters
On Tuesday 10th March 2020, Whitley Academy hosted a Careers Fair in the Presentation Hall for Careers Week, with stalls from external providers, colleges and universities in attendance to give advice to our students from the years 7 – 11 about what they would like to do with their future. The Careers Fair lasted the whole day for us to explore different opportunities.
In the Presentation Hall there were crowds of students at each stall. Employees, training providers, universities and colleges invited the students to ask questions and discuss if they would choose the university to study in. Some of the universities were Warwick University, Newman University, Birmingham, Royal Lemmington College, Warwickshire Garage and transport group, Heart of England Training and a few other very interesting ones. We took some leaflets to research more about each university and employer and what apprenticeships or degrees they offered.
Thank you to all the employees, training providers, colleges and universities for helping us to get an idea to choose a path for our future. Another thank you to our lovely teacher Mrs. Duggins for organising this event, it was very helpful to all the students in the school.
