19 Sep Initial Teacher Training Recruitment
Firstly, we would like to congratulate our cohort of trainees from 2017-18 on the successful completion of their training, it was a great year. It was a real privilege to watch these trainees professional development – they acted upon advice and feedback and this was demonstrated throughout their teaching. We are very proud of the professionalism of our trainees year on year and the level of engagement they show in their training and school life, they continue to commit fully to all aspects and this shows in their progress.
Feedback from our trainees has been very good, they have commented on the quality of our training provision and the high level of support they have received from a range of staff involved in their training.
2017-18 was the first year that we launched our Primary provision and we are pleased to announce that this has been a resounding success. Our Primary trainees fully engaged with the training and secured teaching positions for 2018-19. We wish all of our trainees the very best of luck in their future teaching careers. They will all make fantastic teachers.
Our 2017-18 headline figures are highlighted below:
75% of Secondary trainees passed at Grade 1
RSAA TSA completion rate (Secondary) 90%
RSAA TSA completion rate (Primary) 100%
Employment rates (Secondary) 80%
Employment rates (Primary) 100%
Looking to this the 2018-19 cohort, recruitment has been strong and we are looking forward to developing these trainees whose knowledge stretches across a strong and varied range of subjects in our Secondary cohort and growing Primary cohort. The RSA brand of quality training and a unique training provision has supported our recruitment of such high calibre trainees; there are exciting times ahead – training another cohort to inspire our students.
