01 Aug An assembly of rewards for Year 7 pupils

It was the last assembly of the year! An assembly full of achievements, trophies and prizes!
Many of our friends had taken some time to settle in at Whitley Academy, but many of us are now comfortable with our surroundings and beginning to achieve great things around the school! This was recognised by Mrs Reynolds (Curriculum Leader for Opening Minds), who started off the assembly by welcoming the students and saying a big thank you for our efforts during our first full year. She congratulated a select few hard working pupils on their attendance and behaviour.
Next came lots of different rewards given to pupils for their efforts, and it was fantastic to see so many of our friends be rewarded with vouchers, certificates, and trophies for working so hard in the year. Many pupils won individual awards, for doing so well in a particular subject, but there were also team awards, such as tutor group awards and awards for extra curricular performances. They must have felt so proud for collecting their reward in front of the whole year group!
We’ll see you in September for more blogging!
