Our curriculum at Whitley Academy is exciting, innovative and personalised.

Whitley Academy is proudly leading the way in delivering the ‘Opening Minds’ based curriculum framework at KS3. This ensures all traditional subjects requirements are covered, but students are challenged to develop their skills and competences as learners.

Our KS4 curriculum offers a flexible mix of traditional and vocational subjects to deliver bespoke opportunities to all students dependant on their learning needs. A Business Enterprise focus enhances the curriculum delivery. All pathways lead to progression into Post 16 study, which supports a breadth of Level 2 & 3 courses enabling progression to University, further education, apprenticeships and eventual employment.

Learning opportunities extend well beyond the classroom and subjects. An extensive range of extra-curricular opportunities encompass visits, trips, residentials, shows, performances, reporting, sports and creative events which we expect students to participate in, these are both local, national and international. Our link school in Paarl, South Africa hosts students each year to enrich their learning and life experiences.
